Philip Andrews has been involved in music from an early age, when his father, a musician himself, taught him to read music at age seven.

Phil plays saxophone in the Basingstoke Concert Band, and was also Assistant Conductor there for over three years. With the band, he has performed across Europe, in Germany, Holland and Belgium. The band’s CD, recorded throughout 2000 and 2001, was named after Phil’s own piece ‘The Hills of May’, which also features on the album. He was a founding member of the Basingstoke Concert Big Band, a spin-off of the main band, and also plays in Anglo Sax saxophone quartet.
In addition to his band commitments, Phil was a member of the Hook Choral Society, where he sang bass for several years. He works full time as a music teacher.
He has composed and arranged over eighty pieces to date, ranging from piano to orchestra and choir to big band.
