About This Work

"For the Fallen" is from Elgar's wartime masterpiece "The Spirit of England" and is a very sincere and emotional response to what the First World War was visiting on his country and its soldiers. Originally scored for Full Orchestra, Chorus and Sopano/Tenor Soloist this magnificent and deeply emotional score has been arranged, as a ‘stand-alone' piece, for Concert Band by Geoff Kingston.

Taken down a tone from the original, this high effective setting captures all the beauty and subtlety of Elgar's original scoring with the vocal parts scored within the band parts. A great score and one that makes one of Elgar's greatest works accessible to the Concert Band.
