About This Work

“Zadok the Priest”, composed by George Frideric Handel (1685–1759) is the most popular of the four Coronation Anthems he composed for the coronation of George II and sung at every subsequent coronation. The most dramatic and well-know the deceptively simple introduction explodes dramatically with the entrance of the chorus.

Arranged by Geoff Kingston for Chorus and Concert Band in the original key of D major, this retains all the power and energy of the original score and ideal for concert programs both sacred and general. The full instrumental setting for Concert Band, in Db major, is available also.
