Toreador Song - Euphonium Solo

Monday, 25 February 2019

The ‘Toreador Song', from Act II of Georges Bizet's opera ‘Carmen' is now one of the best known of all operatic arias - a pretty big achievement from an opera that he predicted would be "a definite and hopeless flop'. As it turned out, he couldn't have been more wrong. The bold drama of the storyline and punchiness of Bizet's melodies have made it a lasting favourite with audiences.

Toreador Song has been arranged by Geoff Kingston for Solo Euphonium and Concert Band and well within the capabilities of the youngest performer. A tuneful solo that is always an advice pleaser. If required, this can be performed on Bb Trumpet using the Treble Clef solo part.
