About This Work

"Pop Looks Bach", composed by Sam Fonteyn, is the iconic theme music to the BBC television programme 'Ski Sunday', and has changed very little over the years. Its effervescent melody is well-known to the British public and of course further afield. Here it has been scored by Ian Macpherson as a dynamic feature for Trumpets and will give your solists, band and audience all the thrill of the downhill charge. Great encore!

The original score was first recorded for the Boosey & Hawkes Music Library in 1970, although it was not specifically written for the BBC. It has similarities to the opening of Bach's famous Fugue in D minor, which is referenced to by a hardly noticeably church organ in the background instrumentation of the original recording.
