About This Work

'Trumpet Voluntary' is the name given to English keyboard works from the Baroque era commonly played on the organ using the Trumpet stop - hence the name. There are many examples of this type of work, the most popular being Jeremiah Clarke's voluntary - 'The Prince of Denmark's March'; often used as a processional piece at weddings.

Of equal popularity and quality are those composed by John Stanley. One of his better known is his Trumpet Voluntary for Organ, arranged here for Brass Quintet by Geoff Kingston.  A wonderful alternative to the standard Clarke, this tuneful and vibrant score will suite all occasions where processional or recessional music is required.
