About This Work

"Hora Staccato", composed by Grigoras Dinici achieved instant success as a virtuoso showpiece in its original form for Violin and Piano. Written for his graduation in 1906 from the Bucharest Conservatory, and performed at the ceremony, the work the work became an instant success and become a favourite encore of violinists, especially in the 1932 arrangement by Jascha Heifetz.

This specially requested arrangement for Solo Xylophone and Concert Band by Geoff Kingston offers a great showcase for the accomplished performer and is certainly a great encore.
